Symbology of Guernica – Pablo Picasso – Hidden Symbols in Arts

Symbology of Guernica, a painting by Pablo Picasso, created to commemorate the memory of the victims of the aerial bombardment of the Basque city of the same name, during the Spanish civil war, which took place on April 26th, 1937, by the German military aviation. The work is an allegory of the homicidal madness that is unleashed during wars and a metaphor for the destruction of a city that has itself become a symbol of martyrdom.
